WASHINGTON– April 02, 2012 – Syndicaster will provide HD technology to NAA for the streaming of addresses by President Barack Obama, Gov. Mitt Romney and International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde from the Newspaper Association of America’s mediaXchange 2012, April 2-5, it was announced today.
NAA will provide free access to keynote speeches from the event, the largest annual gathering of industry executives in North America, at its website http://www.naa.org/mediaxchange. Syndicaster provided technology for video-on-demand clips from mediaXchange in 2011 and will debut live HD streaming at the Washington conference this year.
“We are delighted Syndicaster will be used to provide unfettered public access to these high-profile addresses in real-time and HD,” said Sean Morgan, CEO of Critical Media, which launched Syndicaster in 2008.
Obama and Lagarde are the scheduled speakers at the annual meeting of The Associated Press on April 3 during NAA mediaXchange 2012. Obama is slated to talk at AP’s luncheon, while Lagarde is appearing at the morning portion of AP’s meeting. Romney will speak at a joint luncheon with NAA and the American Society of News Editors on April 4. All events take place at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park.
Syndicaster is deeply entrenched as a service provider to both broadcast and print media. More than 450 television stations use the cloud-based platform to create and publish just-aired video clips on thousands of websites, while 150+ newspapers use Syndicaster to add both live and on-demand online video to their local news coverage.
“Supporting NAA is a natural extension of Syndicaster’s commitment to bring live video technology to the leading brands in news,” said Ion Puspurica, EVP of Critical Media and general manager of the company’s Media Services Group.
