The Nation’s Leading Hispanic News and Information Company Will Use Platform to Capture, Produce and Deliver Real-Time News Video Content Across Their Sites, Servicing an Audience of More Than Seven Million Hispanics

NEW YORK, NY–April 01, 2011 – Critical Media today announced that impreMedia, the leading Hispanic news and information company, has tapped Syndicaster, the leading real-time broadcast-to-Web video platform, to enable and develop their end-to-end video network, spanning the media company’s widely-read web sites.

The partnership provides impreMedia’s journalists with the capabilities to manage real-time video aggregation from the field, edit, publish, syndicate, and distribute Web video news assets across the web sites of El Diario La Prensa, El Mensajero, La Opinión, La Opinión Contigo, La Prensa, La Rasa, La Vibra, and RUMBO Houston.

“From early on, we identified the Spanish-speaking community as one of the most influential demographics in the U.S. today,” said Critical Media CEO Sean Morgan. “Working with impreMedia, with its vast multimedia product offerings, further establishes Critical Media as the world’s largest video ecosystem, specifically when it comes to the management of broadcast media targeted towards the Latino community.”

The partnership marks the largest ever commitment by a media company to delivering Web video news to the Latino community, affecting the 7.7 million adults who consume news and information across the impreMedia’s offerings. According to a September 2010 report by Nielsen, more than half of Hispanics on the Internet have high speed access and about half spend some time each day on the Spanish-language Internet, defined as using email, watching video or listening to music.

“Our audience is highly engaged and influential,” said Monica Lozano, CEO of impreMedia. “Our journalists will be able to connect with our audience on a deeper level through the expansive use of Web video news and features; users will have a richer experience while staying informed.”

Deploying Syndicaster across its network of Spanish-language news and information Web sites will allow impreMedia’s veteran journalists to immediately capture, edit and publish breaking news, features stories and other news clips that are relevant to their highly-targeted and explosively-growing audience. One in six US residents, or more than 50 million people, is Hispanic, according to the latest analysis from the Census Bureau.

Critical Media already offers an extensive indexed database of Spanish-language broadcast content through their Critical Mention broadcast monitoring service. With this partnership, the company has now built the largest searchable database of digitized Spanish-language media in the world.
